Teams champs under way

Round one of Pool play in the Teams Championship began today. The match of the day was undoubtedly the 5 set thriller between Nathan Stevenson of Australia and David Letourneau of Canada, won by by Stevenson 9-3 9-5 4-9 8-10 9-1. Canada however, went on to defeat Australia in the tie 2-1.
Hot on the heals of yesterday’s individual final, the teams competition is a opportunity for a little national pride to come into play, as teams work together to make the quarter finals. Unlike the individual championship there will be 8 nations represented in the quarters, which will provide an opportunity for supporters to get out and cheer for their country.
Pool play will continue Tuesday with the teams final on Friday 28th at Arena Manawatu.
